Formats
About the formats
What is DOCX?
DOCX has been the default Word format since Office 2007. It is a ZIP file of XML that stores text, styles, tables and pictures. It is the format most people expect for documents they need to edit, while PDF is the usual choice for documents that should look the same everywhere.
What is HTML?
HTML is the language of web pages. A saved page or an export from a notes app is usually an HTML file. ConvertOrino keeps headings, paragraphs, lists, tables, links and pictures that are inside the file, and leaves out scripts and anything that would load from the internet.
Questions
Questions and answers
Is it safe to convert my files here?
Yes. ConvertOrino converts your files with code that runs in your own browser. Nothing is uploaded to a server, nobody else can see your files, and they are gone as soon as you close the page.
Is the DOCX to HTML tool free?
Yes, completely free. There is no sign up, no watermark and no limit on the number of files.
Is there a file size limit?
There is no fixed limit, because your own device does the work. Very large files are limited by the memory of your device. Phones handle files of a few hundred megabytes, computers handle much more.
Does it work on iPhone, Android, Mac and Windows?
Yes. It works in any modern browser, including Safari, Chrome, Edge and Firefox, on phones, tablets and computers. Nothing needs to be installed.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Once the page has loaded, the conversion works without an internet connection, which also proves that your files are not sent anywhere.
