convertorino Works offline

Privacy

The short version: your files never leave your device, and analytics only runs if you say yes.

Your files

Files you add to ConvertOrino are processed only in your browser. They are not uploaded, stored or seen by anyone, and that includes Google Analytics. When you close or reload the page, they are gone from memory.

Analytics

The first time you visit, a banner asks whether ConvertOrino may use Google Analytics. Accept and Reject are equal choices, and every tool works the same whichever you pick.

If you press Accept, ConvertOrino uses Google Analytics 4, a service from Google, to understand how the site is used. It records which pages are visited, how visitors found the site, an approximate location (country and city, worked out from the IP address) and the type of device, browser and screen. This shows which tools are useful and which need work.

Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. Google signals and ad personalization are switched off, so the data is not used to show you ads. Analytics data is kept for 2 months and then deleted automatically.

If you press Reject, or make no choice, Google Analytics is not loaded at all and nothing is sent to Google.

What analytics never sees

Your files, their names, their contents and the converted results are never sent to Google Analytics or anywhere else. Analytics only knows which page you are on, not what you do with your files.

Cookies and local storage

These cookies are only set after you press Accept:

  • _ga, set by Google Analytics, tells visits from the same browser apart. Expires after 2 years.
  • _ga_ followed by an ID, set by Google Analytics, keeps track of the current visit. Expires after 2 years.

ConvertOrino also keeps a few things in your browser's local storage, which are never sent anywhere: your cookie choice (so the banner does not ask again for 12 months), your choice of light or dark theme, and a copy of the site's code so the tools work offline.

Changing your mind

You can change your choice at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page. If you withdraw consent, analytics stops straight away and the Google Analytics cookies for this site are deleted.

Legal basis and data transfers

Analytics only runs with your consent, as required by the GDPR (Article 6(1)(a)) and the ePrivacy rules on cookies. Google Ireland Limited processes the data on behalf of ConvertOrino, and some of it may be handled by Google in the United States. Google is certified under the Data Privacy Framework between the EU and the United States and uses the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. Read more in Google's privacy policy and how Google uses data from sites that use its services.

Your rights

You have the right to ask for access to, correction of or deletion of personal data, to object to its use and to withdraw consent at any time. Because Google Analytics data is not linked to your name, the simplest way to stop it is to press Reject in Cookie settings. You can also complain to the data protection authority in your country.

Server logs

Like any website, the hosting provider may keep standard technical logs of page requests, such as IP address, browser type and the page requested, for security and operation. These logs never contain your files.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page. Last updated .
