Many apps, social networks and document editors cannot use SVG. Converting to PNG gives you a pixel image at the exact width you need, with transparency kept.

Formats

About the formats

What is SVG?

SVG describes shapes as code instead of pixels, so it stays sharp at any size, and a simple logo or icon often takes only a few kilobytes. Web developers use it for logos, icons and illustrations, and design tools and cutting machines read it too. Many apps, social networks and document editors still only accept pixel images such as PNG and JPG.

What is PNG?

PNG is a lossless image format released in 1996. Every pixel is kept exactly, and it supports full transparency, which makes it the usual choice for logos, icons, screenshots and anything with text. Photos saved as PNG are often several times larger than the same photo as JPG.

Questions

Questions and answers

Is it safe to convert my files here?

Yes. ConvertOrino converts your files with code that runs in your own browser. Nothing is uploaded to a server, nobody else can see your files, and they are gone as soon as you close the page.

What size will the PNG be?

You choose the output width in the settings. The height follows the proportions of the SVG. Pick a large width, such as 2000 pixels, for print or high resolution screens.

Why do fonts look different in my converted SVG?

If the SVG uses a font that is not installed on your device and not embedded in the file, the browser substitutes another font. Converting text to outlines in your design tool before exporting fixes this.

Is the SVG to PNG tool free?

Yes, completely free. There is no sign up, no watermark and no limit on the number of files.

Is there a file size limit?

There is no fixed limit, because your own device does the work. Very large files are limited by the memory of your device. Phones handle files of a few hundred megabytes, computers handle much more.

Does it work on iPhone, Android, Mac and Windows?

Yes. It works in any modern browser, including Safari, Chrome, Edge and Firefox, on phones, tablets and computers. Nothing needs to be installed.

Is hidden metadata such as location removed?

Yes, by default. Location, camera details and other EXIF data are removed from every converted image. For JPG output you can untick Remove metadata to keep the date taken and camera details instead.

Does it work offline?

Yes. Once the page has loaded, the conversion works without an internet connection, which also proves that your files are not sent anywhere.
